Dear Reader,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you who might not already know me. My name is Darla Marx and I am a native of Panola County and the new Publisher of Panola Crossroads. Most of my career has been centered around the publishing industry starting at the tender age of sixteen, when under the direction of Lincoln King, I became the photographer and copy editor for our class publication, Loblolly. After high school with the guidance of Mr. King, I interviewed with Lloyd Grissom who at the time owned the Panola Post newspaper in Carthage Texas. I managed to get the job and was a photographer and lithographer for the publication for many years until Lloyd and Bertha bought the Panola Watchman and we moved across the street to our new location. Those were exciting times for a young woman in the newspaper business. As my career advanced and our newspaper changed owners I had the opportunity to add experience to™ my resume in another area of the printing industry, the sheet fed business. I received a call in 1994 from the owners of a new start up company called Complete Printing and Publishing, this is where I am today and I will remain for the rest of my printing career. But that’s enough about me.
Forty-four years later these are still exciting times for a mature woman in the publishing business. Looking ahead, stay tuned for full stories by writer Kay Hubbard plus a new article in each issue by inspirational gospel writer Claire Shaw. We will have beautiful graphics and layout by the accomplished artist Tanya Jones and the same quality of print that Complete Printing has been giving it’s readers for the past ten years because we aren’t changing that either. Our goal with the Crossroad Magazine is to elicit excitement every time you receive a issue in your mailbox. And, as we continue to evolve the magazine, we ask that you provide us with feedback so that we are able to meet and exceed your expectations. We look forward to providing you with articles that will give you the opportunity to improve your knowledge about the people in your communities as well as Panola County.
Happy Reading All!
